Eau Claire (WQOW) -- The high school football postseason begins later this week, with WIAA Level 1 games in all seven divisions.

Eau Claire Memorial made it into the playoffs for a third straight season thanks to a win Friday over crosstown rival Eau Claire North.  Now, the Old Abes have to head out on the road to face unbeaten Big Rivers Conference champion Hudson, in a Division 1, Level 1 game.

"There's no question that Hudson is the best team in the conference," says Memorial head coach Paul Kling, "they proved that by going through the regular season and winning every conference game. They are one of the better teams in the state, but with that being said, it's another game and another football team. You have to go into a game knowing that you can play with any team that you face. And that's our attitude right now. It's a one and done mentality."

Eau Claire Regis is making its fifth straight playoff appearance under head coach Bryant Brenner.  The Ramblers remained unbeaten with a win Friday at Stanley-Boyd to capture the Cloverbelt Conference title.  Regis will get a Level 1 home game in Division 6 Friday against Flambeau.

"We're really pleased with how the season went so far, but it's in the past now," Brenner says, "now we're really excited to be in the playoffs and still be playing football. A lot of teams aren't in that scenario. Our kids are really hungry to keep improving and to continue to play."
