Court orders 40-year institutional commitment for man who killed his brother

Posted:

Washburn County (WQOW) - A Washburn County man has been committed following the death of his brother.

James Pinter, from Sarona, reached a plea agreement in the death of John Pinter.  John's body was found last year in a camper on property the men shared near Long Lake.  Investigators said James Pinter told them he suspected his brother was trying to steal from him.

On Tuesday, James Pinter pleaded no contest to second degree intentional homicide.  The court then ordered Pinter to be committed to a mental institution for 40 years.
