Janesville police investigate similar robberies over last week

JANESVILLE (WKOW) -- Janesville police are investigating a strong armed robbery they say is similar to recent incidents over the past week.

Officials say on Wednesday just before 10:00 p.m., officers were dispatched to Bazingas Pub and Grill at 1110 Kellogg Avenue. A 41-year-old Janesville woman reported she was outside the bar smoking when a man grabbed her purse.

Police say the man is described as being in his 20s with short blonde hair. He ran away and police say it's believed he left the area in a vehicle.

Janesville police say there have been similar incidents over the last week at Woodman's grocery store and outside of the Boston Store at the Janesville Mall. Investigators aren't sure if the robberies are related.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Janesville Police Department at (608) 755-3100 or Janesville Area Crime Stoppers at (608) 756-3636.
