Chippewa County (Press Release) - The investigators of the Chippewa County Sheriff's Office
took Shane Gregory into custody at approximately 3:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19, 2012 in the
Town of Lafayette near County Highway K and County Highway X.
Gregory was the person of interest and
suspect in a pursuit and other criminal activity in Chippewa County and Eau
Claire County on Monday Oct. 15.
Investigators from the Chippewa County Sheriff's Office
developed information during the afternoon hours of Friday and confronted
Gregory in the parking lot of the Bateman Tavern at the intersection of CCounty Highway K and County Highway X. Gregory fled on foot with deputies in pursuit. Gregory was taken
into custody in a wooded area behind the Hoffman Trailer park without incident.
This remains an active investigation even with the
apprehension of Mr. Gregory.

Chippewa County (Press Release) - The Chippewa County Sheriff's Office continues their investigation and attempt to locate Shane Gregory as result of the burglary, pursuit and related incidents in Eau Claire County on Monday, October 15.
A number of search warrants have been applied for and served on the vehicle Gregory was operating as well as a storage unit in Gregory's name in the Town of Lafayette.
Both the contents of the vehicle as well as the contents of the storage unit reveal Gregory's involvement in numerous burglaries of homes, businesses and storage units in and around Chippewa County.
From the hundreds of individual pieces of property items seized they include a Hobart Welder, numerous air tools, battery operated drills, saws and related power hand tools. Also a compound bow, numerous antiques, power miter saw and stand a flat screen TV, numerous wrenches, tools and lawn equipment.
Chippewa County Investigators are preparing a detailed list to share with other law enforcement agencies in an attempt to identify similar criminal activity in other jurisdictions as well possible owners of the property.
