Cadott (WQOW) - Residents of an area school district will gather Thursday night to 'kick around' option to save the school's football program.
The Cadott School District is among at least three in the region that is looking at merging football teams with other districts. That's because of low numbers of players, and injuries. Cadott and Cornell have already teamed up to finish out the season.
On Thursday night there's a meeting at the Cadott High School to talk about a more permanent arrangement. It would be a four-year agreement.
Past, present and future football players, parents and residents will get a chance to speak. That meeting starts at 6:30 p.m.
The Cornell School District had a similar meeting on Monday. Everyone there favored joining forces with Cadott. But Lake Holcombe Schools have also proposed merging football programs with Cornell. The Lake Holcombe School Board is meeting Monday on that proposal.
