COLLEGE STATION, Texas (WKOW) -- Officials at Texas A&M University are conducting a building-by-building search of the campus after everyone was ordered to evacuate following a bomb threat.

The university remained shut Friday some three hours after the threat was received.

School officials say bus service on the campus has been rerouted and at least two nearby churches are offering to serve as shelters until the evacuation order is rescinded.

COLLEGE STATION, Texas (WKOW) -- Texas A&M University officials say all students, faculty and staff are being evacuated after they received a campus-wide bomb threat.

The evacuation order was posted on the university's website Friday as a "Code Maroon" warning. The university is directing those on campus to evacuate by foot immediately and to not use a vehicle.

Texas A&M spokesman Lane Stephenson says the school received a call about the bomb threat at about 11:30 a.m. Friday.

With the warning, all classes have been canceled and the evacuation will remain in effect until further notice.
