Plea bargain reached in church money theft

Chippewa Falls (WQOW) - A plea bargain is reached with the man accused of stealing thousands of dollars from an area church.

Kurt Meyer of Eau Claire pleaded no contest Thursday to burglarizing St. Charles Catholic church in Chippewa Falls.

Church officials say in December 2010 he stole the entire Christmas weekend church collection money. More than $30,000 in cash and checks was stolen including money for orphans in Peru. 

Meyer will be sentenced next Thursday.
