EAU CLAIRE (Press Release) - Just as
many organizations go through strategic planning, Regis Catholic Schools (RCS)
is continuously looking for ways to increase system efficiencies while working
to provide the excellent Catholic education it is known for offering. Dating
back to 2005, many studies, plans, and voices have offered the system different
recommendations and options for increasing efficiencies.
Over the past two years, Bishop William Callahan and the pastors of the supporting
parishes of Regis Catholic Schools have carefully reviewed studies and
recommendations, met with each Committee of the Episcopal Commission, and have
sought out additional demographic research. In the meantime, RCS implemented a
few non-structural cost cutting measures and researched options to continue
forward under our existing configuration while celebrating increased enrollment
for a fourth consecutive year.
With new measures in place, RCS has been steadily increasing its enrollment,
reducing debt, and balancing its budget. During this time, RCS has also been
able to make system enhancements in individualized learning through technology
and through curriculum planning. Furthermore, a demographic study based on
population trends suggests that RCS will continue to see enrollment growth for
the coming years. With these new efficiencies in place, and an anticipated
increase in enrollment, the RCS leadership has determined it will continue
forward with its existing configuration.
RCS Dean, Father Brian Konopa stated, "The pastors of the supporting
parishes of Regis Catholic Schools are grateful for the insights, passion, and
patience that have come from committed members of our Regis community. Regis
Catholic Schools will always strive to provide what is in the best interest of
our students."
The RCS system is currently made up of two childhood development centers, three
elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school. RCS will continue
to offer an excellent Catholic education in a Christ-centered and peace-filled
learning environment.
