Posted:

MADISON (WKOW) -- The fall season is here and the holiday season is right around the corner and that means it's time to make some fun, fall recipes.

Kevin English, from GFS Marketplace, joins Wake Up Wisconsin Weekend to show an easy caramel apple pie recipe.

Here the recipe:

Caramel Apple Pie

1 Frozen Apple Pie
1 cup caramels
1 cup walnuts

Remove frozen pie from package and thaw for 10-15 minutes. Take a knife and gently cut top crust off. Set aside. Scoop out apple pie filling into mixing bowl. Add caramels and walnuts. Stir until mixed thoroughly. Place apple pie mixture back in pie shell. Place top crust bake on top of pie. Bake according to instructions on box.

Get fancy:  take a pizza cutter and cut top pie shell into strips for a lattice-work pie.
Try other variations:
Fruit pie – add cream cheese
Cherry pie – add marshmallows and chocolate chips
Peach pie – add blackberries and cinnamon
