MADISON (WKOW) -- University police say they've arrested a researcher at UW-Madison for growing marijuana in a campus building.
UW police says officers found marijuana plants in the Biochemistry Building on Tuesday, October 16. Following an investigation, police learned that Christopher Schwartz was responsible for the plants.
According to the UW-Madison website, Schwartz is assistant scientist in the College of Agricultural & Life Sciences.
Police say after speaking with Schwartz, they found evidence of marijuana growing and use at his residence on Madison's west side.
Schwartz was booked into the Dane County Jail for one felony of Manufacturing/Delivering THC. Charges are being requested from the Dane County District Attorney's Office. UW police say their investigation is ongoing and additional charges are possible.
