MADISON (WKOW) -- A week from this Sunday the Badger men's basketball team hosts its annual Red-White scrimmage. The team's first exhibition game is November 7th. The Badgers' season opener is November 11st. Yes the basketball season is rapidly approaching.
Tuesday the media got a chance to hear from the Badgers during the team's annual Media Day at the Kohl Center. Mike Brusewitz was in attendance; truly great to see the senior forward considering what happened on October 9th. Brusewitz got tangled up with teammate Josh Gasser going for a dunk. He hit the back end of the basket standard and when he looked down he saw a huge gash in his leg. Brusewitz said it was so bad, he could see his bone. Tean trainer Henry Perez-Guerra came to the rescue in what could have been a tragic moment.
"I'm fortunate that I get to play basketball again," Bruesewitz said. "Yes it stinks that this happened to me, but once again it's just a game. I can't say why me because there's a lot of why me's in the world so you just got to take it one game at a time and stay as positive as you can. "
