UTAH (WKOW) – Thousands of pounds of ground beef are being recalled for fear of possible E. coli contamination manufactured in Utah and Hawaii. None of the recalled meat was distributed or sold in Wisconsin.
The U.S. Food Safety and Inspection Service says more than 2,300 pounds of ground beef products from Utah and 4,100 pounds from Hawaii are being recalled.
The beef from Utah was made at Main Street Quality Meets on October 18 and 19. The recall includes 10-pound cases labeled "Ground Beef Bulk" and 12-pound cases labeled "Ground Beef Patties."
The beef from Hawaii was manufactured at the Higa Meat and Pork Market on October 17.
The Food Safety and Inspection Service said products from both facilities tested positive for E. coli, but no one has reported getting sick from the meat.
