Madison Police arrest 5 in prostitution sting

MADISON (WKOW) – The Madison Police Department arrested five people involved in a solicitation incident on Thursday.

The Madison Police Department's Community Policing Teams on the North and East side worked together on a project that focused on internet prostitution in the City of Madison.    The aim of the program was to reduce the number of prostitution incidents in the city.

Police said residential establishments in and around the 4500-5000 blocks of East Washington Avenue were the primary targets of this project.  Police said there has been a regular occurrence of prostitution in this area and it lead to other crimes being committed, including batteries and robberies.

Officers arrested five people around 5 p.m. on Thursday on a variety of charges from prostitution solicitation, drug possession and dealing with warrants that were outstanding on a number of arrestees.

Madison police said the program was also put in place to provide an overall sense of security to individuals that might find themselves in this area in the future.

Authorities said the emerging problem needed to be addressed, with respect to victimless crimes, and the efforts of all involved parties resulted in a successful operation.

Police arrested Samantha K. Lovick, 18-year-old of Portage, for charges of prostitution, probation violation, trespassing, miscellaneous warrants and felony bail jumping.

Police arrested 24-year-old Clyde E. Boyd for charges of soliciting prostitutes and trespassing.


Police arrested 20-year-old Desiree C. Wilks for charges of trespassing.

Police arrested 20-year-old Dorothy W. Ashford for charges of solicitation.

 

Police arrested 48-year-old Kevin J. Schultz for charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of Marijuana, trespassing and possession of narcotics.
