MOUNT HOREB (WKOW) – A Mount Horeb man was arrested for his 4th OWI after leading a pursuit with responding officers early Sunday morning.
Jason A. Sunby was taken into custody after eluding an officer who attempted to stop the 27-year-old's vehicle for a speeding violation on E. Business 18/151. Authorities said the incident happened around 2:40 a.m.
Police said Sunby did not stop for police and continued southbound on 8th Street reaching speeds of approximately 80 mph.
Authorities said Sunby attempted to make a turn onto Spellman Street, but left the roadway into a vacant lot. Police said Sunby returned to 8th Street, but left the roadway again. Sunby spun around and came to a rest in the 600 block of 8th Street.
Mount Horeb Police detected an odor of intoxicants on Sunby and had him perform field sobriety tests.
Authorities said Sunby failed the tests and was arrested for Felony OWI-4th offense. Police also charged Sunby with felony eluding, failure to have control and unreasonable and imprudent speed.
Police took Sunby for a blood draw before booking him into the Dane County Jail. Additional citations are possible pending the results of the blood test.
