Madison (WQOW) -- The Badger men's basketball team suffers a major blow before the season even begins. Point guard Josh Gasser tore his anterior cruciate ligament Saturday at Badgers' practice.
The junior will redshirt this season and undergo surgery in the upcoming days, according to the school.
Gasser was a starting shooting guard for UW the past two seasons, and Wisconsin coach Bo Ryan announced earlier this week Gasser would start at point guard this season. Gasser averaged 34 minutes, 6.8 points and 4.1 rebounds the past two seasons for UW.
