MADISON (WKOW) -- State officials say the end of daylight saving time this weekend provides a good opportunity for homeowners to make a number of safety checks.
Clocks move back an hour at 2 a.m. Sunday, November 4.
The Wisconsin Department of Military Affairs says this is a good time to check and replace batteries as needed on home smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors.
DMA officials also recommend that every home have a basic emergency kit with supplies such as food and water to last you and your family at least three days. Other items like a battery powered or crank radio, flashlights and first aid kit are also recommended.
