MADISON (WKOW) -- Madison police say a woman was attacked and sexually assaulted Monday evening on the 900 block of Sequoia Trail.
Officials say the woman was walking behind Lincoln Elementary School when the incident occurred around 8:00 p.m.
Police say the victim -- a 34-year-old Madison woman -- suffered facial injuries. She said her attacker was a stranger who was scared off by the headlights of a vehicle.
Police located a person of interest outside of an apartment building on Magnolia Lane. He is now in secure custody, but has not yet been arrested.
