Eau Claire (WQOW) - Hunters and trappers have now taken 39 wolves in the state's first-ever wolf hunt.
The DNR says 27 of those wolves are males, and 12 are females. A majority were taken by trapping.
Statewide, the most wolves have been taken in Price County with six so far. In our area, two were killed in Jackson County, and one each in Clark, Eau Claire, Barron, Rusk, Sawyer and Taylor counties.
