Candy Trade-In Party at Meriter

MADISON (WKOW) -- Halloween is over and most kids have a pile of candy leftover. Doctors and pediatricians recommend limited the amount of candy that children intake in the coming days. If you're looking for a way to get rid of some of the excess and help out a good cause at the same time, you can stop by the Meriter West Washington Clinic on Saturday for their Candy Trade-In Party.

The Trade-In Party will take place from 10 a.m. till 1 p.m. at the clinic on 345 West Washington Avenue on Saturday November 3, 2012. Pediatricians will be collecting excess Halloween candy which will be sent to U.S. troops overseas as a part of Operation Gratitude. Kids who donate their extra candy will be given healthy treats in return and be entered to win great prizes, like a brand new Schwinn bike!

On Thursday, Dr. Kathryn Cahill joined the Wake Up Wisconsin team to talk about the Trade-In Party and how to help keep your kids safe and healthy in the coming days.
