PORTAGE (WKOW) -- The Columbia County Sheriff's Department completed its investigation into the death of Cody L. Weideman.
Weideman, 25, of rural Portage, was found dead at his home June 3, 2012. The investigation showed he died from a drug overdose, specifically heroin toxicity. As a result, 35-year-old Thomas A. Holtan, of Portage, was arrested for first degree reckless homicide.
The sheriff's department says Holtan is a suspected heroin dealer who supplied Weideman with the drug, resulting in his death.
Holtan is currently being held in the Columbia County jail and should be in court for his initial appearance Friday, November 2.
