MADISON (WKOW) -- Police say a 23-year-old Madison man was arrested for battery to an officer.
Officials say the incident happened in the 1900 block of Hawks Ridge Drive late Thursday night.
Police say a 40-year old resident called them after hearing loud music coming from an apartment upstairs for several hours. That resident also stated someone began kicking at his door saying, "open up".
Once on scene, an officer talked with the suspect, Ryan Lepak, who was a visitor to the building. Lepak's speech was slurred and his breath smelled of intoxicants. While the officer was preparing to write the suspect a citation for disorderly conduct, Lepak charged the officer, punching him in the head. The officer landed on his back and used his taser to bring Lepak under control. The suspect continued to fight and struggle as he was escorted out of the building and placed in a squad car.
Lepak is in the jail at this time, pending charges of battery to a peace officer, resisting a peace officer and disorderly conduct.
