WI in political spotlight the final weekend before Election Day

Wisconsin (WQOW) - Wisconsin is back in the political spotlight Saturday as President Barack Obama campaigns in Milwaukee. The president's trip Saturday is just the latest in a flurry of Wisconsin visits, by both campaigns.

President Obama led a rally with pop star Katy Perry. He told supporters that, Mitt Romney is posing as the candidate of change but would bring back republican policies that he says led the country into the financial crisis.

"I will work with anybody of any party to move country forward. And if you really want to break the gridlock in Congress, you'll vote for leaders who feel the same way, whether they're democrats, republicans, independents, people who put you first, who put the American people first. Not elections first, or partisan advantage first, or special interest first, or big money contributors first or SuperPACS first. But put the people of Wisconsin first. That's what you should be thinking about," President Obama told the crown in Milwaukee.

The president is also making stops in Iowa and Virginia before returning to the White House Saturday. He plans to visit four states on Sunday. The president will also be stopping in Madison the day before the election.

Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney was in also in Wisconsin Friday.  Saturday, he made a stop in Colorado.

Fighting for the swing vote, Governor Romney told supporters in Colorado Springs that he won't represent one party, he'll represent one nation. Romney promised to bring a bipartisan approach to Washington.

He told the crowd, "Now you know, you know if the President were to be re-elected, he would still be unable to work with members of Congress. He's ignored them. He's attacked them. He's blamed them. And of course, the debt ceiling, it's gonna come up again. And then there'd be a threat of shutdown or default. And that, of course, chills the economy, puts more people out of work."

Governor Romney is also visiting New Hampshire and Iowa over the weekend.
