UPDATE: Two teens identified in fatal crash on Hwy 93

Eau Claire County (WQOW) - Investigators are still trying to determine who was driving the car that crashed early Sunday morning killing one area teen and leaving another with serious injuries.

Kristian Kittelson, 19, of Strum, was killed.  Cody Bowman, 17, of Eleva is in the hospital.   The Eau Claire County Sheriff's Office says both teens were thrown from the car when it lost control on a curve and overturned. 

The crash happened around 2 a.m. Sunday on Highway 93.

EAU CLAIRE COUNTRY SHERIFF'S OFFICE PRESS RELEASE:

On Sunday November 4, 2012, at about 2:02 A.M., Eau Claire Sheriff's Deputies, Township Fire, and Eau Claire Fire and Rescue were called to the scene of a one-vehicle crash on HWY 93 near Rudy Road in the Town of Pleasant Valley.

A 1999 Chevrolet Monte Carlo with two occupants was involved in the crash.

Kristian J. Kittelson, 02/27/1993, died at the scene from injuries sustained in the crash. The other occupant was transported to an area hospital to be treated for injuries. 

The cause of the crash is under investigation by the Eau Claire County Sheriff's Office. 

The above responders were assisted by the Eleva Police Department and the Trempealeau County Sheriff's Office.
