Eau Claire (Press Release) - On Sunday, November 4, 2012, at 10:57 p.m. Eau Claire Police and Fire/Rescue units were dispatched to the 8600 Block of the Highway 53 freeway for a single vehicle rollover crash. The driver of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Eau Claire Police Department Crash Reconstruction Team is continuing to investigate the details surrounding this crash.

Eau Claire (Press Release) - On Sunday, November 4, 2012, at 10:57 p.m. Eau Claire Police and Fire/Rescue units were dispatched to the 8600 Block of Highway 53 Freeway reference a rollover crash.
Preliminary investigation into the crash by the Eau Claire Police Department indicates that there was one vehicle involved; Chevrolet Silverado. The Chevrolet was traveling southbound on Highway 53 just north of the on ramp to Golf Road when it drove into the east median of the roadway. The Chevrolet then overcorrected and went into the west ditch and rolled several times until it came to a rest on its top.
The Chevrolet Silverado was driven by an adult male who was the lone occupant. Emergency personnel worked for approximately 15 minutes to extradite the driver from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Eau Claire Police Department Crash Reconstruction Team responded to the scene to conduct an investigation of the crash. Highway 53 southbound roadway was opened up for traffic by 2:45 a.m.
The name of the operator will not be released at this time. The Eau Claire Police Department will conduct additional investigation and will release details when they become available.
Update (WQOW) -The southbound lane of US 53 has been reopened Monday morning. Traffic was diverted off of the highway and onto Golf Road while crews were on scene.
A car flipped over onto its roof off southbound Highway 53 right next to the Golf Road exit. There's no word yet as to what caused the crash.
Eau Claire (WQOW) - The State Patrol says all southbound lanes of US 53 are closed at Golf Rd in the city of Eau Claire due to a traffic incident. Southbound traffic should exit at Golf Rd and re-enter US 53 SB via the Golf Rd on-ramp.
Our reporter drove past the scene, and says there is a car flipped over onto its roof off southbound Highway 53 right next to the Golf Road exit. Police and fire crews are on scene investigating.
