Pierce County (WQOW) - A western Wisconsin man who stabbed two men, killing one of them, will not face criminal charges.
In a 14 page decision, the Pierce County District Attorney has determined that Codi Walztoni acted lawfully in self-defense.
In July, Walztoni stabbed two men who came into his River Falls apartment through a window. Dylan Barry died and William Sangster was hospitalized. The district attorney says the investigation shows Barry and Sangster had been chasing Walztoni's sister down the street and followed her into Walztoni's apartment. The district attorney says Sangster admitted attacking Walztoni before he was stabbed.
The district attorney concluded that Walztoni used reasonable force while protecting himself, his fiance, and an infant who were also in the apartment.
