Eau Claire (WQOW) - Tuesday is Election Day, but eyes will be on a vote in downtown Eau Claire.
On Monday night, the Eau Claire Plan Commission will discuss rezoning properties targeted by the Confluence Project. The $85 million plan calls for student housing, an arts center and retail space in downtown Eau Claire off of Barstow Street and Graham Avenue. The commission could make a recommendation on rezoning, along with adopting the general development plan for the project. Last month, the Waterways and Parks Commission voted to recommend rezoning with some stipulations.
The plan commission is also expected to make a recommendation on a proposed land transfer. The YMCA is interested in swapping land on Menomonie Street with the city, for land on Galloway Street where the Y hopes to build a new facility. The meeting starts at 7:00 PM and is in the Eau Claire city council chambers.
