AURORA, Ill. (WKOW) -- Aurora police say they've arrested and charged a 26-year-old man who allegedly stabbed his 8-month-old daughter while arguing with the child's mother.
Nathaniel Nared was charged with aggravated battery to a child, aggravated battery, aggravated domestic battery, and two counts of domestic battery.
Police say a verbal altercation escalated after Nared allegedly grabbed a knife and began swinging it at the woman, who was holding the baby.
The child was stabbed twice in the leg. The woman was stabbed in her stomach, right shoulder, and back. Neither suffered life-threatening injuries.
Nared ran away on foot before police arrived, but was arrested a short time later.
He's being held in jail at the Kane County Correctional Center in St. Charles.
