Rice Lake (Press Release) - After an extensive theft investigation, the Rice Lake Police Department executed three search warrants on November 5, 2012.
Officers recovered an abundant amount of stolen property related to numerous thefts from vehicles and potentially other properties in the Rice Lake community over the past year. While executing the warrants, police stopped and detained a 26-year-old male suspect as he neared his residence and subsequently recovered two firearms and a compound bow that had just been reported stolen from a vehicle in a close time proximity to the execution of the search warrants.
Investigators are in the process of sorting through several items of property they believe to be stolen. They request that if you were a victim of theft, and had not yet reported it, to notify the Rice Lake Police Department at your earliest convenience. Additionally, the Rice Lake Police Department wants to remind everyone to continue to secure your vehicles and other properties when not attended and to not leave valuable items in plain view.
The 26-year-old suspect was transported to the Barron County jail pending formal charges by the Barron County district attorney's office. H is scheduled to make an initial appearance in Barron County Circuit Court on Wednesday at 1 p.m.
