MADISON (WKOW) -- Madison police say a 25-year-old woman fell victim to fraud.
Police say the woman was selling her computer monitor for $120 and had advertised on Craigslist. She was contacted by a man willing to pay the full asking price.
Officials say the two met near her downtown residence Saturday and he handed her six $20 bills. Once he left with her monitor, the woman realized the only legitimate bill was the one on top. The other five had the same serial number of JG05178338B.
Police describe the suspect as a black man in his early twenties, who's about 6 feet tall with an average build. He was last seen wearing basketball shorts, sneakers and a sweater.
