Cause of fatal Water Street fire could come out soon

Eau Claire (WQOW) - Information may be released soon on what caused the Water Street fire that killed two UW-Eau Claire students last month.

Eau Claire Fire Department investigators spent the last two days going through the burned out apartment. That completes the on-scene investigation.

Experts are now processing and analyzing items from the building. Officials hope to be able to rule out some possible causes which could lead to the likely cause of the blaze. An answer is expected by next week.

Students Ross Livermore and Jacob Clarkson died as a result of the fire that broke out in their upstairs apartment. Their two roommates escaped serious injury.
