Community service ordered in stalking case

Posted:

Eau Claire (WQOW) - A sentence is handed down for a local man accused of stalking his ex-girlfriend.

Police say David A. Nelson sent 2,500 text messages to the woman in one month's time. Nelson, of Eau Claire, was also caught twice hiding near her home, and another time in her garage.

Police say one time he had a baby monitor in his pocket that he allegedly used to eavesdrop on her. Nelson has now been ordered to do a month of community service and get any necessary domestic abuse treatment.
