Eau Claire (WQOW) -- After winning a Division 1 sectional title last Saturday, the Eau Claire Memorial girls swimming & diving team is looking for another strong performance at state.
The Old Abes finished tenth in the Division 1 teams tandings last season, and they're shooting for another top ten finish this time around.
"At the beginning of the season we made a goal sheet," says Memorial junior Ali Glassbrenner, "of all of our team goals, and some of them were to win all of our dual meets, win conference, win sectionals, and to place top ten at state, so we're looking to do that as well."
"It's super cool to be down there in the big Natatorium," says Old Abes sophomore Sarah Manz, "because that's where all the college athletes are racing, and from previous experiences it's not nearly as intimidating because you've been to the big pools before, but it definitely gets you pumped up and swimming fast."
Eau Claire North freshman Lauren Glassbrenner will also compete at state.
Memorial is also sending a strong diving contingent to Madison. Kendra Morgan, Miranda Severin, Heidi Chellman, and Ele Higley took the top four places at the sectional.
