MADISON (WKOW) -- Dealing with an illness, a transplant or a disease is difficult. Often patients have to travel far for their treatment and that can get expensive. To help patients dealing with transplants here in Wisconsin, the Restoring Hope Transplant House is opening its doors.
Restoring Hope Transplant House welcomes individuals and families dealing with transplant to a warm, caring home away from home where they can recover in comfort. Restoring Hope Transplant House is the first and only one of its kind in this region. This will have a direct impact on the lives of people across Wisconsin who are organ and bone marrow transplant recipients.
The cost per night at Restoring Hope Transplant House is $35 a night, while a hotel of equivalent quality would be closer to $100. Over 75% of transplants taking place at local hospitals are not for residents of Dane County.
