DARLINGTON (WKOW) -- A new judge has been appointed in the case of two Argyle brothers charged with killing three children in a fire.
According to the Wisconsin State Journal, Green County Judge Thomas Vale will replace the judge who was overseeing the case in Lafayette County. Defendants Armin and Jeremy Wand requested a new judge, but didn't give a reason why.
One of the first motions Vale will consider is a request by Armin Wand's attorney to move the trial out of Lafayette County or have jurors from somewhere else be brought in to hear the case.
The Wands waived their rights to preliminary hearings Tuesday.
Police say Armin Wand plotted to set the fire in order to kill his family and got his brother Jeremy to help. Armin's three sons were killed in the fire. His wife Sharon was seriously injured and is still in the hospital. Their 2-year-old daughter Jessica survived the fire.
