Eau Claire (WQOW) - The list of possible sites for a new Eau Claire Post Office has been narrowed to four options. The US Postal Service says the possible sites are all in downtown Eau Claire.
One spot is the building that houses Charly's Market grocery store.
Another finalist is the Graham Riverside building. The other contenders are new buildings that are now in the planning stage.
One is at the former site of the Burger King restaurant on North Barstow Street, the other is currently being used as a parking lot next to the existing post office.
A postal service spokesman says they hope to pick a site within the next month, and to re-locate within a year. Due to shrinking volumes of mail, the postal service says the existing downtown site is too large with 26,000-square-feet. They are looking for about 4,000-square-feet of space.
