Gordon Severson - WQOW TV: Eau Claire, WI NEWS18 News, Weather, and Sports

Gordon Severson

Gordon joins the 27 News Team after living his entire life right next door in Minnesota.

He is excited to experience everything Madison and Southern Wisconsin has to offer.

After graduating Summa Cum Laude at St. Cloud State University with degrees in Broadcasting and Film studies, Gordon joined ABC6 News in Rochester Minnesota. His work at KAAL earned him the title of Associated Press Young Journalist of the Year in 2011.

Originally he wanted to be the next great Hollywood news director, but early in his career he decided telling news stories that really impact everyday people was what he was meant to do.

His broadcasting career has taken him on many adventures in the pursuit of telling great stories.

He traveled with a group of WWII veterans to Washington D.C. as part of the Honor Flight Network. He spent five months training for the Med City Marathon in honor of his late grandma who recently died of brain cancer. He enrolled in the Citizen Police Academy with the Rochester Police Department to give viewers an inside look at a police station.

An avid runner, sports fanatic, and film buff, you'll probably run into Gordon as he gets to know Madison. He's excited to be a part of the Madison community.
