Eau Claire (WQOW) - The Chippewa Valley received a special visit this afternoon from an elite flying squad.
The Blue Angels were in town Thursday, to plan for their show next year. Two members of the elite group of Navy flyers landed at the Chippewa Valley Airport Thursday afternoon. The two are new members to the group, which performs air shows across the country, and in Canada.
"We get to represent the 550,000 sailors in the Marines that are around the world helping to defend our freedom, so I don't consider myself any different than the pilots that I've flown with before and that I hope to fly with in the future. We came from the fleet and we're headed to the fleet after the Blue Angels and this is simply a two or three year time period where we get to represent them, and that part is what's special to us," says Lt. Ryan Chamberlain, with the Navy Blue Angels.
The Chippewa Valley show will be just one of 33 shows the Blue Angels will perform next year. The Eau Claire show will be held in September
