MADISON (WKOW) -- On Friday, Governor Scott Walker will announce the state's plan to implement the health care law, even though he was granted an extension.
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services announced Thursday it was extending its deadline until December 14.
States had previously faced a Friday deadline to tell the federal government if they would like to run their own health insurance exchange, have the federal government do it, or take a combination approach.
The exchanges are public marketplaces where people can buy private health insurance.
They are mandated under the president's Affordable Care Act.
