MADISON (WKOW) -- Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker will let the federal government set up a health insurance exchange under the Affordable Care Act.
He made the announcement Friday morning, saying the state will not implement its own exchange.
Gov. Walker sent a letter to the U.S.
Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius notifying
the federal government of Wisconsin's decision. Click here to read the letter.
Walker stopped implementing that Affordable Care Act last year in hopes it would be overturned by either the U.S. Supreme Court or Republicans after the November election. Neither of those things happened.
Late Thursday, the federal government gave states an additional month to decide what to do. Walker didn't take the extra time to announce his decision.
