RIVER FALLS (WKOW)-- A real estate agency has dropped a residential listing in River Falls after the mother of three slain girls urged it to cancel the sale of the home where her daughters died.
In an email to an Edina Realty agent, Jessica Schaffhausen warned the sale of the house would mean tens of thousands of dollars for the girl's father, who's charged with killing them. Five-year-old Cecilia, 8-year-old Sophie and 11-year-old Amara Schauffhausen were killed in the home they shared with their mother on July 10. Their father lived in North Dakota.
A spokeswoman for Edina Realty, Maria Verven, told the Star Tribune the agency canceled the listing after receiving Schauffhausen's request. Verven says the defendant's family approached the agency about putting the house on the market. It was listed for $229,000.
