Menomonie (WQOW) - Thursday afternoon the Menomonie
Fire Department was called in for a brush
fire in the Town of Lucas.
No one was injured. The
battalion chief says about 12 acres of grass and wooded area burned. He says
windy conditions and a campfire
in a resident's yard started the fire.
Boyceville and Spring
Valley also responded.
Over twenty firefighters spent five hours
battling the flames. The chief says the fire was along a hill, which made it
difficult to catch. The fire was accidental
and the residents that started it were not fined.
