MADISON (WKOW)-- Hunters have little time before the application deadline for Wisconsin's upcoming Spring turkey hunt.

Wildlife officials are urging hunters to get out and register before December 10th.

A drawing for permits will be held in late January and early February, after which the permit winners can buy their licenses starting March 6th.

All leftover permits after the drawing will go on sale to the general public.

The Spring turkey hunting season starts on April 6th with a special youth hunt. The regular hunting season starts April 10th.
