Granite Peak in Rib Mountain, like many ski hills in Wisconsin, had to make snow to satisfy skiers and boarders hungry to hit the hills this Thanksgiving holiday weekend.
Granite Peak, which is in the Wausau area, opened for its first runs of the year on Sunday, after places like Tyrol Basin in Mt. Horeb welcomed skiers on Saturday.
Both operations had to make the snow for their customers.
And because of warmer than normal November weather in Wisconsin, both had to wait till the temps dropped the past few days to even make snow.
