MADISON (WKOW) -- Governor Scott Walker helped kick off the holiday season at the Governor's mansion, when he hosted a special ceremony Sunday night, along with his wife, Tonette.
The ceremony was to light the Christmas tree at the mansion.
The Governor and Mrs. Walker also handed out cookies and hot chocolate before taking some visitors on a tour of the residence.
There will be more holiday mansion tours next month.
The free, two-hour tours include a view of the main rooms on the first floor and a brief description of the decorations, which include six Christmas trees.
The tours run December 5th through the 15th.
Governor Walker is encouraging people who come for a tour to bring a non-perishable food item to donate to a food pantry.
