MADISON (WKOW) -- The Orpheum Theater in downtown Madison is one step closer to reopening.

Monday night, the city's Alcohol License Review Committee approved a liquor license for the theater's new manager, Frank Productions.

The full council still needs to approve it, which could happen at the next meeting on December 11.

When it took over management of the Orpheum last month, Frank Productions said it hoped to begin putting on shows by the end of the year.
