School board approves football co-op with another district

Cornell (WQOW) - Two school districts have agreed to team up for football.

On Monday night, the Cornell School Board voted 4-0 to approve a co-op with Lake Holcombe.

Due to low numbers and injuries, Cornell had merged with Cadott to finish out the most recent football season.  Cadott had some interest in a more permanent arrangement.  On Twitter, Cadott Superintendent Joe Zydowsky tweeted, "Good luck to Cornell and Lake Holcombe on their new football co-op.  The Cadott Hornets will move forward to build our program from within."

Lake Holcombe has already voted to co-op with Cornell.  They now have to apply to the WIAA.
