Eau Claire (WQOW) - An annual fundraiser held in Eau Claire is in need of
a new organization to help it continue running.
Taste of
the Valley is held each year in downtown Eau Claire's
Phoenix Park. The United Way recently announced it would no
longer partner with the Eau Claire Press Co. to put on the event. The
non-profit group says the time they spent organizing the event could be better
used.
"We have a
responsibility to our donors to make sure that we're doing the optimum in
investing back to the community, and utilizing the hours that we spend. In this
case, it didn't merit the hundreds of hours of management," said James
Peters, Director of Marketing for United
Way of the Greater Chippewa Valley.
The Taste
of the Valley began back in 2007 under the name Taste of Eau Claire. This
year's event raised over $7,000.
