Experiencing and celebrating Hanukkah

MADISON (WKOW) -- The celebration of the Jewish holiday, Hanukkah is right around the corner. In preparation for that holiday, YJP Madison along with Chabad of Madison are hosting several fun events.
 
On Dec. 2, 2012 you can attend a Hanukkah Wonderland. Children and adults can experience Chanukah through an intriguing hands-on olive press demonstration, creative crafts corner, a game show, a bounce house, and much more. At 422 Commerce Drive from 12 p.m. till 4 p.m. The cost is $5.00 at the door.
 
On Dec. 8, 2012 you can attend a Hanukkah Social. It's an adult party on Saturday night, the first evening of Hanukkah at the Orpheum 216 State Street. You can enjoy an evening of celebration and enjoyment with wine, cheese, sushi, and all the Hanukkah goodies. It featuring professional wine steward Merrell Tomlin of LearnVino.com, and Brazilian born artist Jonatas Chimen, showcasing his greatest works. It runs from 8 p.m. through midnight and the cost is $10.00 at the door. 
 
On Dec. 13, 2012 you can attend a Hanukkah Car Parade, with over 15 vehicles equipped with overhead Menorah's. They will parade around downtown Madison to spread the Holiday spirit and enjoyment. The parade route will be starting at 1722 Regent St. passing the Capitol building, heading down State Street and finally ending at 223 W. Gillman St. on Thursday at 5 p.m.   
 
Hanukkah is highlighted by the kindling of the Menorah each night of the holiday. It also propagates the universal message that ultimately good will prevail over evil, freedom over oppression and light over darkness.
