MADISON (WKOW) -- Governor Scott Walker lights the Capitol Christmas tree. The tree is now ready for the holiday season.
Governor Walker and representatives from Wisconsin tree farms participated in the event. Handmade ornaments make up the holiday tree.
A small model train runs around the base of the tree, which came from a Medford farm.
Walker showed a smaller tree in the Governor's conference room. Walker says he cut down the smaller tree.

MADISON (WKOW)-- Governor Scott Walker is expected to light the Capitol Christmas tree Friday.
The 37-foot balsam fir tree will be in the Capitol Rotunda and is decorated with handmade ornaments from school children. It came from a farm in Medford.
The lighting is expected to happen around 8 a.m.
Fourth-graders from both Medford Elementary and Stetsonville Elementary Schools have been invited to sing at the tree lighting ceremony.
