Memorial Christmas lights brighten foggy weather

Eau Claire (WQOW) - A special set of Christmas trees in Eau Claire lit up the foggy weather outside Sunday.

The Love-Light Christmas Trees are in their 27th year outside of Sacred Heart Hospital. So far, over 3,000 lights have been added to the trees. The lights are still available to be added to the trees for a small donation.

"People purchase lights because it helps them remember a loved one, whether they are still with us, or with us in their heart. And it's very meaningful then during the holiday season, when they can drive by the hospital and pick out their own special light," said Sacred Heart Hospital's Mary Pengra.

Each color of light stands for a different memory. For example, the red, green, and gold lights honor those who have served in our military. The lights will remain up until January.
